We have a bookshelf in our living room that is the BOYS. All of their books and worksheets and workbooks and folders are tossed onto the shelves.
Every single day I see it and every single day it gives me a stomach ache because it’s SO disorganized! I needed to find a 5 Minute Home Organization Project for my family! I don’t have a ton of time to do anything with little ones! But I cannot (for the life of me) look at the ugly and messy shelves anymore! My kids just toss things and go! They don’t stop to even help me fix anything! It’s CRAZY! I knew I had had enough, so I came up with a plan and knew it wasn’t going to take me long!

I decided yesterday afternoon that I had had ENOUGH! Time to organize this bookshelf as best as I can, all while knowing that whatever I do to organize it, could potentially be “ruined” in an hour. I knew I needed to give each boy their own “space” and their own “area”… so I decided to buy fabric bins. I thought this easy Home Organizing Tips would work well for me and my family.

It literally took me 5 minutes to go from this… I’m even embarrassed to show what this looks like right here!
To think…
I bought these Martha Stewart Fabric Bins to help me create space for the boys – they each got one! I know the boys love seeing their names on things, so I thought if I could make it exciting and new for them – they would go for it! I love how each of them has their own little cubby now, just like at school for them to “own” and have as their very own. This is important for them and I know it’s essential for our house to stay on point and not a crazy disaster!
Easy Home Organizing Tips
And I popped in workbooks, books and worksheets that are for the boys. My son Alex was over the moon to see that all of his stuff was in here! They love to read and do some workbooks on their own, so instead of any fights ensuing over who has whose book, they all have their very own spot! I love it!
It was super easy and now I can look at this shelf and not be embarrassed by it! See moms – we can do this! With 4 sons my house is never neat and tidy, but I’m trying and trying and trying!!!!!! I love me some Home Organizing Tips!
Not to mention, each boy is responsible for their own bin, so what’s inside it, nobody can see!
