How to make *”Smokey Barf” Halloween Cookies…
1. Start with 4 grandson brothers, ages 4, 5, 7 & 8.
2. Wave bye-bye to Mommy and Daddy as they head out to afternoon appointments. Time: 1:15 pm.
3. Get talked into breaking into a brand new U-Build Lego Battleship Board Game, reading all the directions, building the various ships, setting up the game and choosing teams; all of which turned into a great hit with all 4 boys and brought back shiploads of memories to this Grandma…
4. Smell something burning.
5. Run to oven.
6. Discover a sheetload (love this baking word that I just made up) of what look like chocolate cookies.
7. Hand each boy a towel to wave away smoke.
8. Remove chocolate cookies from oven; cool cookies.
9. Allow begging brothers to taste cookies; document reactions for returning parents…
10. Serve cookies to Larry, the family Halloween skeleton…
11. Name the cookies – SMOKEY BARF & BABY BARF. Yum.
12. Laugh uproariously.
13. Resume Battleship game.
14. Get text from Mommy at 3:18 pm…
15. Respond to text…
16. Finish Battleship game. High 5 all around.
17. Greet Mommy upon her return; beg her to bake new cookies.
18. She will.
19. Discover that the cookies were not chocolate; they were SUGAR COOKIES turned SMOKEY BARF!
20. Check how Larry reacts to SUGAR COOKIES…
*21. OR… just burn a sheetload of SUGAR COOKIES. But that’s just not as much fun!
