Domestic Diaries: How to Make Easy Homemade Applesauce

How to Make Easy Homemade Applesauce

My sons went apple-picking with my parents 2 weeks ago and came home with a HUGE bag of apples. We’ve been trying to eat them as much as possible, but literally… there’s like 50 of them left!

So yesterday I decided to make Applesauce. I wanted to make real-warm-and-cozy Homemade Applesauce. I wanted to use the apples and whip some up! I had ZERO idea as to how to make applesauce, so my husband gave me directions as he was cleaning the basement. I have to say, his directions were dead-on because the applesauce came out AWESOME!

Our big bowl of apples…

Peeled and ready to be cut…

Sliced and placed in a large pot, where I added 1/2 cut of water.

I placed the stove on medium-heat, and let the apples soak and cook for 45 minutes. They “melted” down to a soft mush, absolutely DELISH!

I added about a cup of sugar and 1/2 cup of cinnamon and stirred everything together. I added in a dash of this and a dash of that until I felt it tasted PERFECT!

Super easy and super good!
