Cinderella!
When I was pregnant with my oldest, my sister in law bought Cinderella on DVD so she would have it for the baby (who I suspect she was thinking would be a girl). But then I had a boy. It didn’t matter though, when he was really small he loved watching that movie over and over. He always seemed mesmerized at the part where Cinderella is cleaning the floor and singing with the bubbles everywhere. (Which was one of my favorite parts as well.) What I never realized was that as much as my oldest watched that movie, the twins never saw it.
My Diamond Edition of Cinderella on Blu-Ray and DVD arrived in the mail last week!

The boys resisted watching it at first, but coming home teary eyed from the pediatrician after getting flu shots, all they wanted to do was sit on the couch and watch a movie. When I mentioned Cinderella and they said yes I was thrilled. We popped some popcorn and all snuggled together on the couch. Before the movie started, we watched the animated short included on the DVD Tangled Ever After. The wedding of Rapunzel and Eugene. The short centers around what happens when Maximus and Pascal lose the wedding rings – during the ceremony – and it kept us all laughing.
Then we settled in for the main feature, Cinderella. I was thrilled to see how much the boys liked the movie (even though they seem to be against all things that seem ‘girly’ lately). Their favorite parts were anything that had the talking mice in it, and they were impressed with the Fairy Godmother turning them into part of Cinderella’s entourage the night of the ball. It was so nice to spend the afternoon watching the movie with them.
At the stroke of midnight on October 2nd, Cinderella can also be yours too!
