When is the last time you sat down and watched Finding Nemo? I have to say it had been a long time for me. We have it on DVD at home and there was a time when the boys were super small that they would make me play it over and over. I would watch little pieces here and there with them, but I also used that time to get a couple things done around the house. I can’t lie about that.
When I found out we were going to get to watch the new Finding Nemo 3D – before it was out in the theaters – I remember thinking how perfect the movie was for 3D and I was excited to sit down and see what they did with it. Before Finding Nemo 3D began, we got treated to a viewing of the short PartySaurus Rex.
I have to tell you, it was such a cute short! I loved the idea of a giant pool party – in a tub – for several of the Toy Story characters. Very funny! My kids will love this, I can already tell. They will be laughing from start to finish! At home, my husband and I have joked for years about having ‘light switch raves’ – flipping the lights on and off and dancing with the kids. (Which we do with them by the way.) It was so fun watching the characters have one of their own in the tub with the glowing lights.
Then it was time for the big show – Finding Nemo 3D
I loved this movie in 3D – the depth of the water, the current, everything looked so neat it was like you were down in the water with everyone. I felt like I fell in love with this movie all over again and it was so much better in 3D. Watching Nemo again after a few years, I found a connection that stuck with me. My oldest son has mild cerebral palsy – Nemo’s smaller fin really struck a chord with me. I don’t know why I had not thought about it before. It has a wonderful message for kids with any kind of disability, to keep trying till you get it – because you will get it!
No matter how well you know this movie, trust me when I say you won’t want to miss it in all it’s 3D glory. I am so excited to take my boys!
