Congrats to Kerri Walsh and Misty May-Treanor for Winning GOLD!

I’ve been a fan of Kerri and Misty for the last 3 Olympics.

These girls just got it.

They have this competitiveness to them that I just admire and respect. Putting it lightly, these girls don’t like to lose and it’s AWESOME.

This past May I had the chance through Pampers to head to NYC and host a LIVE Facebook Chat with Kerri Walsh. I was really excited to meet Kerri because in every single interview I’ve ever seen of her, she always seems so down to earth, so grounded, so… well, normal. And when I say normal, I kind of have seen her as that chick you sit down with and just gab away with! I had met her mother a week earlier at one of P&G’s “Thank you, Mom” media events, and I was struck by her coolness, her passion for her daughter, her love of the game of beach volleyball and her love of wanting Kerri to go GOLD!

The SECOND the Pampers team introduced me to Kerri, she treated me like a friend.

She was beyond gracious.
She was beyond nice.
She was beyond funny!
She was open and willing to answer all the questions her fans tossed at her.
She was… truly, the embodiment of grace.

There was one thing though that we talked about that she absolutely, positively wanted… and that was GOLD.

I saw it in her eyes.

She wasn’t coming home without it.

I saw her match the other night and I got goosebumps for her. She’s the kind of athlete you want to root for, she’s just awesome!
