Watching my daughter watching her children…

Mom/Grandma full circle moments…

There’s something so full circle about watching your kids watching their kids.

I happened to capture this photo of Audrey watching her 4 little boys, ages 4, 5, 6, 7, entering the Fun House at our local Summer Carnival during 4th of July festivities…

I could feel her trepidation. I was there once.

I could sense her mother-fears.  I was there once.

I could blink my eyes and be her… all those years ago.  I once was her.

Standing on tippy-toes.  Eyes locked on her children as they romped and laughed and disappeared into the mirrors and mazes.

My heart was so full, watching my daughter watching her children… waiting for each of them to appear like magic from the fun of that Fun House.

And soon the giggling-with-summer-joy boys were sliding down the exit slide with the childhood delight that only a summer carnival can make.

All was well.

Until, of course, the ride on the Round-up!…

Just beautiful. Although I am not there yet I am closer to it than the little kids stage. You capture grandmahood so beautifully and with such joy.
