The Power of the Olympic Games

I have been looking forward to the Olympics for months!

Ever since I was a little girl, I have always loved sitting in my living room, curled up on the couch watching the Olympics.

Swimming has always been my favorite sport to watch for the Summer Games.

So it was pretty incredible seeing my own sons, specifically my 2 oldest guys, get so excited and so amp’d up for the Games to be on TV yesterday.

I see my sons’ eyes light up when the athletes compete.

I see dreams being made.

I see ah-ha moments being formed.

It’s this special time in their life where anything and everything is possible, and I love it.

I’m sitting here in tears right now as I write this because this is the beauty and the essence of the Games that makes them so special. It’s showing the world what can happen if you truly dare to dream and go after your dreams.

We all have different dreams in life.

Mine was to marry the man of my dreams.
Mine was to become a mother.
And mine was to be a successful businesswoman.

I see my son William right now. He’s sitting on the couch chanting “America! America! America!” all last night. He cheered for every single red, white and blue uniform, wanting Team USA to win-win-win! But it was when he was watching Ryan Lochte race Michael Phelps when I saw the true spark of a dream in my son.

He said, “WOW… he must have worked really hard to beat Michael Phelps. I’m going to work that hard.”

It made me smile.

At 7 years old, the world is at your fingertips.

You can be anything you want to be.

Anything is possible.

I love that the Games add in this inspiration and motivation for a child to go after their dreams… regardless of what they are.

It’s the power of the Games that I love for my children and for the world.

Be fearless.

Be passionate.

Go for your GOLD!
