My son Benjamin was allowed to join the swim team at our pool club this year. I wasn’t sure he’d be able to handle it, but the coaches assured me that as long as he could swim a lap without stopping, he’d be good.

He can do that, so we signed him up!

On Friday afternoon, the coaches decided to take all the lane lines out and have all the kids on the swim team do one-laps together. The kids were ecstatic to do this… even my Ben. After a few of them, he started to get real tired, real quick.

And then I saw this…

My niece helping Benjamin. She swam right next to him and made sure he could get out every single time.

It warmed my heart in a way I can’t fully describe.
