Early this morning, Jane came by my house for a run together.
I love running with Jane because she’s my wonderful, beautiful daughter and I love her company and conversation and running expertise… but she also has all these crazy-great APS and tools on her phone to track our miles, times, routes and a zillion more things that I love.
Jane usually comes right in the back door and is ready to go.
Today, I heard this sweet little voice coming from the back steps… a voice getting louder each second with, “MOM! MOM!”
I raced to the back door to see this little struggle with what else, but dirty LAUNDRY…
“Do you mind if I do a little laundry?” Jane was asking along with the back door struggle.
Seems Jane’s dryer is on the blink.
I was thinking, “A LITTLE!?”
Well, I actually enjoy doing laundry, especially with my new washer/dryer system right there, albeit temporarily, on my back porch. Just like in my childhood memories…
I went about my work, maybe even humming Whistle While I Work, of sorting the huge pile into 3 smaller piles and began Wash #1.
We ran 4.07 miles.
Jane went about her work day.
I put Wash #1 in the dryer and began Wash #2.
Etc. Etc. Etc.
Until 3 piles were clean, dry and folded.
When Jane returned…
I just had to say it.
“Laundry. Damn, I’m good.”
What a blessed daughter you have! I love your pictures from beginning to end. And I love your new washer and dryer.
Rhonda… thank you so much! I love my Janie and I really do enjoy doing laundry! xo!
You’re the BEST!! Thank you!!! XXOO
