Daily Diary: The Importance of Friendship

You know those friends, the friends that know your past?

The ones where you can say one word and they get it?

I miss those times. And I miss seeing those kids of friends all the time.

This past weekend I went to a baby shower for one of my oldest friend’s. Her and I met in Kindergarten and were inseparable for years. We shared friendship lockets, passed notes and dared to dream together. Fortunately Facebook has connected us all again… and it’s been amazing.

This past weekend at her Baby Shower for her baby-girl-to-be… I laughed till I cried with these ladies…

We joked about our past crushes and boyfriends. We joked about fashions we used to wear. We shared stories about our lives now and our kids and our husbands.

There’s something about being with people who you have been with since the beginning. We all love each other and are loyal to each other because we grew together.

It’s a beautiful thing.

It reminded me how important friendships are and just how much I missed these girls.

These girls who knew me before Matt, William, Alex, Ben and Henry.

And it’s a note to myself to keep in touch with them all.

And not to mention, to hope my boys have friends like this someday, too.
