Yesterday I had to come home from the serene and peaceful #CBCSummerHouse in Nanatucket. Cercone Brown hosts the best Summer House events EVER!

I knew it was time to leave, but I so didn’t want to. There’s something about Nantucket, Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard that just makes you want to STAY.

The ONLY reason why I boarded the ferry back to the Cape with a smile was because I missed my boys and couldn’t wait to see them. My ferry was at 3:15PM and I figured I’d be home by 6PM.

As I was on the ferry, Matt texted me, “Are you on yet?”

I didn’t think anything about the text and wrote back, “Yes. I’ll be off in an hour and will text you.”

His response back, “K.”

And so, my hour on the ferry began, I zoned out with a really good book and just kicked back and relaxed. I knew I had an hour and a half trip home after we docked, so I really wanted to soak up the 60 minutes of no internet time with my book.

It’s funny, as we docked, I felt something. I can’t quite describe it, but I felt something.

I headed to my car, paid my parking fee and picked up my phone to call Matt and let him know I was on my way home. His first words to me were, “You feel like lunch?”

“Yeah, what do you guys want to do?” (Still clueless.)

“Why don’t you meet us at Spanky’s.”

WHAT??? Spanky’s is around the block!!!

“Wait a second Matt, are you guys here?? Are you serious!!??”

Matt laughed and said, “You told me we didn’t have anything to do on Friday, so I booked a hotel and thought it would be fun to spend a couple of days at the Cape.”

PURE. HEAVEN.

PURE. SURPRISE.

And so… last night we dined on chowder, lobster rolls, went to the beach, we went fishing and walked downtown Hyannis and got ice cream. A perfect night.

And today… a perfect HOT day ahead of us!!
