Be FEARLESS. My P&G everyday Resolution.

Be fearless.

Today’s P&G everyday resolution.

In an effort to help Americans resolve to make their everyday better, P&G everyday, a program aimed to improve the everyday lives of consumers by offering smart living tips, product savings and free samples (www.pgeveryday.com) is proud to launch a mid-year resolution campaign.

The incredible campaign is aimed to encourage consumers to make small pledges for themselves and their family in order to lead a more rewarding and fulfilling life.

Personally, I love this.

With just five months into the New Year, a national survey conducted in May among 1,000 nationally representative men and women in the United States revealed 51 percent of Americans who made New Year’s resolutions failed to follow through on their goals. Mid-March was quitting time for most and on average, Americans surveyed kept their New Year’s resolutions for 10 weeks before reverting back to old habits/practices. Furthermore, 70 percent of those surveyed admit they likely failed to achieve their resolutions because they were too big or they tried to achieve too much. However, 88 percent of those polled believe they would be more successful in sticking to their goals if they set smaller, more manageable resolutions versus committing to one single large goal.

It’s with these consumers in mind that P&G everyday conceptualized the P&G everyday resolution campaign.

The idea is to encourage Americans to help better their families by enabling them to achieve everyday resolutions and goals.

I’m honored and beyond excited to announce that I will be working with P&G everyday for the month of June on this amazing and life-changing campaign. I’m absolutely one of “those” people who have fallen off the New Year’s resolution wagon already. I’m excited to share my personal resolutions with my readers throughout the month and I hope to inspire and encourage you all to do the same, with your own personal resolutions.

As I stated above, today’s resolution is to be FEARLESS.

I’ve had so much happen to my family in 2012. My husband was diagnosed with a GIST tumor in February of this year and it literally rocked our world. We didn’t know what his future would hold for a week in the hospital as we patiently waited for his pathology report. Fortunately my husband has a rare type of cancer that was caught early, removed and he’s being treated with a chemo pill as a precautionary treatment right now. We got very lucky, we knew it could have gone in a different direction and we’re extremely happy it didn’t.

Something within me changed in February. Once my husband came home from the hospital, and I knew he was going to be OK, something just switched within me. I became fearless. I became a different woman, a stronger, better version of Audrey… because I had to be for him, for my sons, for my family and for me.

I haven’t embraced that fearlessness as much as I’ve wanted to yet.

And so, given this amazing opportunity to re-do and rethink my resolutions, I’m going to be fearless. I’m not going to let fear get in the way of me doing things. I’m not going to be fearful of the future. I’m not going to be fearful of the weather or work or planning events. It’s not necessary to be fearful.

I can’t tell you what a smile this puts on my face.

Fearless women are strong women.

And today, I’m resolving to be this way. Always.

P&G thank you for this… this campaign is going to truly help shape and redefine lives in such smart and happy ways.
