I’ve always loved my birthday.  Always.

I remember years and years of going to bed on May 22 and just not being able to fall asleep because I was so excited for the 23rd to come!

My parents made my birthday so crazy-special when I was growing up.  All the way till I moved out on my own, my parents would fill my bedroom with pink balloons.  I remember being 20 years old and waking up to 3 gigantic bouquets of pink balloons.  Not to mention, they would always wake me up to the song, “It’s May” that Julie Andrews sang in Camelot.  It was those special things that imprinted on me.

Even though I’m 34 years old today… I still get excited about my birthday.  Really excited!  There’s just something very special about the very day you were born.  The day that was deemed “your” day in the universe.  Now being a mother to 4 little guys, I truly know the blessed event of an actual BIRTHday.

So today… as I’m turning 34 years old, I’m excited to CELEBRATE!

Last night I kicked off my birthday celebration with my guys at the Steak Loft in Mystic, CT with a delicious steak and strawberry cheesecake!

And even though I’m 34 years old, there are somethings on my birthday that still get me excited and that I’ve been doing for YEARS…

– Always wake up at the crack of dawn!

– I always wake up and check my May 23rd Birthday Horoscope on NYPost.com…

– Always have dinner with my parents! They’re the reasons I’m here! I LOVE celebrating with them!

– I’ve always gone on a little shopping spree on my birthday! Today I’ll be doing the SAME!

– Always get myself a cake from Vienna Bakery in Barrington, RI!

I’m excited to celebrate today and I love that my sons get just as excited as I do about my birthday! Alex woke up at 6AM and ran into my bedroom to wish me a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
