WRIGHTSOCK is the right sock… !
Let me just say it now that I am not getting paid to endorse WRIGHTSOCK.
WRIGHTSOCK doesn’t know who I am or that I run. WRIGHTSOCK was just at the right place and right time for me to know just how RIGHT these socks really are.
The reason I’m writing about WRIGHTSOCK this morning is 2-fold. First, because several runners I know have been lamenting about blisters, and we all know that blisters are… well, painful enough to ruin a run or a running experience; and second, my husband surprised me with a new stash of WRIGHT ONES yesterday.
I simply want to pass along my own WRIGHTSOCK experience.
Here’s my very short story about a very long run…
Last year at this time, I was training for my first marathon. I’m a late-comer as a runner and I run purely for fun, for exercise and the challenge of doing something seemingly impossible for me.
I was putting in my miles, but always dreading the pain and foot-ache (heartache, actually) of blisters. I tried sock after sock after sock. I tried bandages. I tried new running shoes. I even changed my stride and foot-fall a bit, trying anything to avoid those nasty little pains in the foot.
But I would not stop running, training, dreaming of accomplishing a goal of a lifetime – my marathon.
I was frightened a bit. Yes, frightened is the only word I can think to use. I was frightened of the pain of blisters. I had done a Half Ironman the year before and my feet and socks were bloody with blisters when I finished my race. My head, heart and soul were soaring… but my poor feet were begging for mercy.
The Friday before my marathon, I went to the race expo and poked around a bit at all the running gear and accessories. I stopped at a sock booth and noticed the anti-blister words on the WRIGHTSOCK package. I was completely skeptical. Skeptical with experience. But the young guy behind the counter could hardly contain his enthusiasm and endorsement for these socks.
So I bought a couple of pairs.
And on that Sunday morning of my marathon, I slipped on a pair.
Then I ran.
I ran.
I ran.
And I ran.
Not one pain. Not one blister. Nothing but comfort. I even credited WRIGHTSOCK in my marathon recap!
Maybe you have to be a runner to get this. It’s discovering BLISS. (Ha! I like this! Substituting BLISS for BLIS-ters!)
But anyway…
I know WRIGHTSOCK and I know that these socks are the right ones to keep me running. I won’t wear anything else, ever, for training, for racing, for just hanging out.
I think you’ve had to have a bad sock running experience to know exactly what I’m talking about.
BLISS.
Just passing it along…
Now I’ve got to get on my new adventures- the Patriot 70.3 and my biggest dream of all… the Marine Corps Marathon!
Hey, I’ve got the socks for it!
