There’s one thing about my sons that I love and I pray and hope never, ever changes… they’re excited for each other.

As a new mom at all of this, I get worried thinking that Alex, Ben and Henry may feel “slighted” or “left out” that everything right now in the world of sports seems to revolve around William. William’s our oldest son and therefore… as with the oldest child, he’s blazing the trail for the family. It’s all new territory for us. As Alex, Ben and Henry get older, they’ll be involved in just as many things as William is right now, and I do know – as their mom – that when William was their age, he wasn’t in anything either. We just started this “sports” thing this past year. William tried swim team last year, but only went 2 days a week and it only last 3 months for him, it was just too much at the time.

So… it warmed my heart IMMENSELY when Alex asked me if he could video William’s 25 yard butterfly yesterday at the swim meet. OK… what actually warmed my heart were the last 4 seconds of the video.

My Alex… he’s a heck of a little brother and he was VERY excited and proud of his big brother!
