Woman’s Day Red Dress Awards Recap with Campbell’s

I needed this night so badly.

A night to be with my best friend.

A night to be among inspiring and fascinating people.

A night to learn and share and enjoy and love… the Woman’s Day Red Dress Awards.

Campbell’s invited Vera and me to be their guests Wednesday night and cover the Red Dress Awards for them. We attended last year together with Campbell’s and we had the most incredible time ever! Heart Disease is personal for me, my maternal grandfather passed away at 47 from heart disease, so throughout my whole life, I’ve been aware (through my mother) of taking care of myself so history won’t repeat itself. As everyone last night kept saying, “We have the power to care of our bodies NOW.”

And as always… the night just was INCREDIBLE.

We had the opportunity to interview the amazing Richard Blais as soon as we got to the Awards. He is the NICEST guy in the world. So sweet and so excited to talk about his work with Campbell’s and his passion for food… (and check him out here on the Campbell’s Kitchen Facebook page with some of his recipes!)

After interviewing Richard we headed into the pre-party gathering and waited by the red carpet to see the celebs show up! We were in our own red dresses and felt very comfortable and fabulous on the gorgeous sea of red…

We feasted on some delicious food brought to everyone by Chef Tom… my personal fave (I think I had about 10 of them!) were the grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato soup. They were out-of-this-world!

And then we started seeing the celebrities… and – oh, yes! – they were out in their gorgeous red…

SUGARLAND!
STAR JONES AND DR. OZ!!
STAR, JAVIER COLON and HOTA KOTB!!

And off we went into enjoy the Award ceremony. I don’t know what it is about this particular night, but I sit there with tears in my eyes, enjoying every single second. It’s a powerful night of performances, speeches, awards and bonding. Stories are told that just move you… it’s just the most enjoyable night ever!

We were allowed to take photos or videos inside the Awards this year, but I can tell you… we saw 4 AMAZING over-the-top performances that were INCREDIBLE!

1) DJ Mia Moretti and violinist Caitlin Moe – OMG!!! INSANE.
2) Naturally 7 – NATURAL TALENT
3) Javier Colon – He sang 3 songs, the last one being a tribute to Whitney Houston. Not a dry eye on the house… !
4) SUGARLAND! – I am a super fan and just LOVED seeing them in person!

Campbell’s – I cannot thank you enough. What you are doing for Heart Month through your adDress your Heart campaign is SO important and necessary. You’re making it easy for people to understand how to eat healthier and live longer.

And don’t forget to VOTE!!! It’s between Chef Blais and Chef Tom!!!
