Mother-Daughter Monday #2: Talking Trust

My Mom and I have a great relationship, and we were always very close as I was growing up, but that’s not to say there weren’t times when we had our differences.

In this edition of Mother-Daughter Monday, we talk about how we developed a trusting relationship together over the years.

Thank you so much for sharing! As a mother of two girls, 20 & 16, I am still learning everyday! Communication is a huge struggle in our home. I welcome and need your valuable advice!

Loved it! Great advice too – take 30 seconds BEFORE you freak out….and maybe the freak out wont happen….(note to self!)

Lovet this one, too. I need to write these down. Take time before you react….that is good advice for any situation! Think of the change that alone would bring if we did it with our kids AND in our marriages. And, I love that you told them to blame you. We do that already with our kids and I think it takes the pressure off of them when they already know something is a bad idea, they don’t feel like they have to foolishly follow along.

Great segment. It is obvious what a great mother/daughter relationship you have and wonderful to hear your advice and tips. As the mom to a almost 11 year old pre-teen daughter I am looking to have a good foundation to our relationship moving into the teen years.

Love the advice about taking a moment before reacting…sooo a good idea and reminder to BREATH and THINK and then respond.
Also, I like that you let the girls defer to the parents when they needed an out. I am going to use that one.
