When a Read-Aloud with grandkids goes completely awry…
For those of you who followed along with my READ-IT-AGAIN December Project (where each day in December I read-aloud a holiday or winter-themed book) on my 365 Days of Literacy for Kids… well, there’s one video you didn’t see.
Until now.
It began with 4 of my 9 grandkids. These 4 happen to be boys. 4 boys. Brothers. Very close in age… as in 3, 4, 6 & 7.
These 4 brothers had been following along with my daily Read-Aloud books, asking me all kinds of questions about my different hats, costumes, my choice of books, and other curiosities.
These 4 boys happened to be at my home when I was getting ready to read my LAST of 31 books in my READ-IT-AGAIN Project, OX-CART MAN, when I had a light-bulb moment. Well, actually a HAT moment…
These 4 guys love books, they love being read to and I know they love me.
But. But. But. But “Boys Will Be Boys!”
See for yourself…
Yep. We’ve got some rain forest, Elf on the Shelf, Mario Brothers, turkeys, roosters, hat tricks, a bit of vaudeville and, of course, farts.
I did go on to finish my read-aloud of the wonderful story of OX-CART MAN, but it’s one I’ll not soon forget!
Ah.
The wonder of Boys.
Very Very FUNNY!!!! Boys will be boys!
Loved it! It wasn’t too bad in fact 🙂
Four boys – I think you coped extremely well!
In fact, a perfect example how to continue… when a read-aloud session starts going downhill…
