How a Dad who lives in Rhode Island builds team loyalty for his hometown team…
I was born in Michigan and lived everywhere from Maine to California as a kid, but I’ve lived in New England since I was 9 years old.
My Nana, my Mom and her 6 siblings were born and grew up in Boston.
My husband was born in Providence, Rhode Island.
My 4 kids were all born in Providence and all live in Rhode Island with their families.
7 of my grandchildren were born in Providence – Patriots’ territory – and 2 were born in New York City.
My son-in-law was born in Pittsburgh but lives in Rhode Island with my daughter and their 4 sons.
These little guys are 2 of their 4 sons, all Steelers fans…
vs.
Fans and football and “jackasses.”
It makes for a lively rivalry.

Being born and raised in New England, I have been a long time fan of the Pats. I was raised with the team and they are my second love.
Just to be clear…I’m in agreement with my son-in-law Matt about being loyal to your team.
