Please… say it ain’t so.

I was just reading this past weekend about some “hot new 2012 trends” that are coming our way. Looks like (oh, yes…) Leather Shorts are going to be quite the item this spring.

I try to look at every new trend with an open mind, but I’ve got to tell you — I don’t know how many moms are going to look at leather shorts and think… “mom-able.”

This is why I’m not a fan:

1. They’re not the most versatile item on the planet.
2. Definitely couldn’t wear these to a PTO meeting.
3. I would say I’d have a little trouble chasing my 4 sons wearing these.
4. Too hot for the summer.
5. I can only imagine how tough it would be to get a stain out (with 4 sons, I think stain-wise).

But (and this is a big but)… if I had to wear them, just for kicks — what would one wear with leather shorts?

Well, it wouldn’t necessarily matter whether the color of the shorts was caramel or black or tan… I’m thinking the same “clothing essentials” for Leather Shorts would be needed:

1. Black Tights
2. Black Turtleneck
3. Silk Scarf

So tell me — would you be into wearing Leather Shorts or not?
