Road Trip Survival Kit for the Mom Fashionista

Road Trip Survival Kit for the Fashionista

Last night we drove home from Pittsburgh to Rhode Island without stopping (well, of course – except for gas and bathroom breaks).  We left Pittsburgh at 5:30PM with every intention of stopping after 5-6 hours, find a hotel and then continue our journey home the very next morning (meaning, today!).   But as we got going… we got more and more excited about ZERO traffic on the roads.  Last year on the way home from Pittsburgh, what should take 9 1/2 hours took 16 hours. The boys still talk about it!

So this year — I was PREPARED.

I’m discovered there’s something to having a “survival kit” of sorts for long road trips… sort of like, the mom essentials that the boys don’t know they need, but surely want as we get going.

Here are my top 4 things that are “essential” for your Road Trip Survival Kit:

1. Cashmere or Sweater Wrap… I use to keep me warm, the boys use it as a pillow.

2. Wet Wipes… I use to remove any makeup, the boys use to wash their hands and faces.

3. Hand Lotion… I use for my hands, the boys used (I’m not kidding) as hair gel for a last minute photo with Santa!

4.  Beanie Hat… I use as a hat, the boys use to hold their LEGO guys.
