I’m all about the convenience of working out at home, but sometimes I’ll excitedly buy a fitness DVD only to try it out and be disappointed. Either it’s not enough of a workout for me, or the instructor annoys me to no end, or it just loses my interest after doing it a few times. I’ve wanted to try a Jillian Michaels workout (Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred DVD) for awhile. I am a huge fan of The Biggest Loser, and I’m a huge fan of Jillian; I even got to meet her in NYC a few years ago at an event hosted by Role Mommy. But Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred DVD – I need it and I want it right now in my life.

I’d heard great things about Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred DVD, but hadn’t wanted to buy it just in case I didn’t love it… so when I saw it at the library the other day, I figured it would be the perfect opportunity to try it.

I am, after all, on a quest to be a fit bride, and I like mixing up my workout routine with new stuff.

I brought the DVD to my parents’ house so Mom and I could do it together. There are three 20-minute workouts on the DVD – level 1, level 2 and level 3. The idea is to start at level 1 and progress to level 3 over the course of 30 days.

I consider myself pretty fit – and therefore thought I could breeze through level 1 – so I told Mom we’d just start there as a jumping off point. If level 1 was way too easy, we would jump right to level 2 (or 3) next time.

Well, let me tell you – Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred DVD level 1 is no joke. It was 20 minutes of non-stop, heart-pounding activity, from push-ups to lunges, jumping jacks to crunches, bicep curls to squats. And best of all, the only equipment we needed was a pair of hand weights each and a mat.

We had an awesome workout. Jillian made it fun and kept us motivated throughout the entire workout. I definitely felt energized the rest of the day, and I woke up this morning with that “good sore” feeling you get after a good workout.

Mom and I are planning on doing the DVD at least 3 days a week for the next month. We’ll keep you updated on our progress.

I definitely suggest YOU trying out Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred DVD level 1! It was hard and she was tough, but if you stay on course and stay committed – it’s going to rock your work inside and out! GO FOR IT!!!!!
