Monday is “National Hug a Blogger Day.” #hugablogger

My best friend Vera Sweeney is kicking this Day off and I couldn’t be more proud of her.

You know, it’s funny… I have some amazing and incredible real-life friends who have never met some of my amazing and incredible blogging friends, and I don’t know if my worlds will ever collide.  When I started blogging in 2007, I was fortunate enough to meet some incredible women who worked with me every single day as my virtual office mates.  They encouraged me to go to conferences, meet other bloggers and really work hard at this whole “blogging thing.”

There are many blogging friends that I adore and love and wish I could hug all the time, unfortunately distance makes that very difficult.

But I do want to share a photo of me and Vera Sweeney, my bestie… that makes me smile, a true “friend” and “hug” moment….

This photo was taken of us in June of 2010.  We were at a Chase Bank in NYC opening up a bank account for our Getting Gorgeous business.  The teller needed us to come up to the business floor, and told us that there was an elevator we could take.  What he didn’t tell us was that the elevator was like 2 feet by 2 feet, not good when I’m HORRIBLY claustrophobic.

I love this photo because… without thinking, Vera hugged me as I literally was almost having a panic attack!  She made me laugh and relaxed me and was a true best friend.
