Day 308 of 365 Days of Literacy for Kids:

November’s Birth Flower is the Chrysanthemum, a lovely bloom which appears as a single flower but is actually hundreds of flowers called florets.

Chrysanthemums come in many, many beautiful colors, but the origin of the word Chrysanthemum comes from the Latin chrysos (gold) and anthos (flower). The Chrysanthemum is related to dahlias, sunflowers, marigolds, zinnias and cosmos…

The Chrysanthemum’s meaning is with love and cheerfulness and is a wonderful flower gift to give to someone you love… especially someone whose birthday is in November.

Look around with your kids & grandkids today and find the cheerful Chrysanthemum in gardens, in flower pots and bouquets.  Why not bring a Chrysanthemum to someone special and tell of its meaning!?

Hey… try to spell CHRYSANTHEMUM.  (Or maybe stick to its common nickname – MUMs!)

Join me here each day in November for KNOW-VEMBER: NOVEMBER FUN FACTS – on 365 DAYS OF LITERACY FOR KIDS! – fun, easy and completely do-able!
