Last November 4 – my 30th birthday, actually – Brian and I met with our loan officer, who happens to be a close family friend, to talk about buying a house.
Then in April we began house-hunting.
In August we were thisclose to buying a house, but the deal didn’t end up going through.
But that was okay because a few weeks later we found another house we liked… put an offer on it… negotiated with the sellers…
And on November 14 we will be closing on the house!
I’m semi-obsessed with diving by the house, counting down the days until it’s ours.
The house is a two-family: a 2-bedroom apartment on the first floor and a townhouse-style apartment on the second and third floors. So we’ll be homeowners and landlords.
The house was built in the early 1900’s, so it has all the beautiful period details that I love about houses built in that era.
It could also use a kitchen update in the first floor apartment, so it has the project possibilities that Brian loves.
So basically, Home Depot will be a weekly (if not more) stop for us in the coming months!
Actually, we already made our first trip there to get some kitchen ideas.
Home-ownership, here we come!
SO exciting. SO happy. SO fun. I am thrilled for you guys!!
Congrats! The house looks beautiful. Enjoy!
Home Depot rocks – congratulations, Jane & Brian!
So so exciting. You know you will have to blog through the renovation for us ok? 🙂 Very happy for you all!
Wishing you much happiness in your new home.
I love the photo of the “Do it yourself” Girl!
