Note to Self: Snow in October?

Last night Matt and I were watching the movie “Bad Teacher” and we couldn’t stop pausing the movie every now and then to listen to the craziness of the wind outside.  It was really bad out.  The wind was rattling against the windows like crazy.  I have to admit, it was one of those nights were it felt good to be all warm and toasty on the couch rather than anywhere else in the world.

As we were heading up to bed, Matt said to me, “We may lose power tonight.  I feel like I should bring the flashlights upstairs, just in case.”

You know what I did?  I literally laughed. “Oh, honey… you’re kidding, right?  This isn’t a hurricane and I bet you we won’t even have a drop of snow in the morning!”

And with that… up to bed we went.

Guess what happened?

At 3:45AM our lights went out.  (Not back on till 10:45AM.)

And this was the scene in front of our house this morning…

Are you kidding me?  Two weeks ago the boys were in shorts!

Moral of the story?

I’m listening to Matt from here on out when it comes to weather conditions.
