Well, you know they’re brothers… right?
Alexander is my fashionisto to a “T”… the little guy loves clothes more than I do (OK… I’m exaggerating a little here). I went upstairs on Sunday afternoon and saw him (literally) taking every single item out of his drawers.
ME: Alex, what are you doing?
ALEX: Looking for a handsome shirt for school?
ME: You don’t want to wear the Patriot’s jersey?
ALEX: Not for the first day, I want to wear a handsome.
(FYI: “handsome” means polo tee.)
After searching for the PERFECT handsome, he found one in the pile… a navy blue Ralph Lauren Sport polo that I bought last year at Marshall’s.
ALEX: I want to wear this one tomorrow, Mom!
ME: OK, Alex… !
And he did, and he looked adorable!
And so, last year I started with William writing a sign saying the date and the grade he was going into… I thought I’d do it with all the boys to keep track of their growth and the grade/years! Last night Alex asked me if he could see what William looked like when he went off to Kindergarten last year… and I was floored and couldn’t believe I forgot!
Oh, yes…

Hilarious! My first grader wants to look handsome too…except he is almost obsessed with it everyday. He likes it when people tell him he looks handsome! 🙂
too funny on the shirt! I’m surprised he was able to wear the same shirt two years in a row or was it different sizes?

ya know – i knew that shirt looked familiar but that would have not have been my guess as to why it was…that is too funny. Is this shirt gonna become like the red sweater…everyone wears it their 1st day. I kinda like the idea LOL
That’s great! I thought my boys were the only ones who referred to Polo shirts or button down shirts as “Handsome Shirts”.
My boys were not very happy I made them wear “Handsome” Shorts to school this week.
