First Day of School for William and Alexander

I have said this about a zillion times over the last 24 hours, but… where the heck has the time gone?

Really… I’m not kidding.

For the life of me, I cannot believe that my oldest guys – William and Alexander are in school. It’s C-R-A-Z-Y to me.

Yesterday marked the beginning of 1st grade for William and Kindergarten for Alexander.

You can see my eyes are a little misty in that photo. I couldn’t help it.

Fortunately all went well yesterday. We didn’t know who the boys’ teachers were until yesterday, so – of course – like every mom there yesterday, I had a nervous stomach waiting to see who they had and what kids they’d be with. Honestly… I knew there wasn’t a “right” or “wrong” class, but I wanted them to be with kids who were familiar and who they knew. One of the toughest things last year was saying good-bye to William in his Kindergarten class and knowing he didn’t know anyone. I literally DID cry as we were leaving the class. It just killed me. I hate hate hate to label, but William’s my more reserved guy. He calls himself shy (which I hate!), but that’s how he sees himself. I have tried my hardest over the last year to show him that he’s not shy… because I really don’t think he is. But all those fears came rushing back yesterday… and then they were squashed when I saw that some of his buddies were in his class. Not to mention William has the same teacher as last year and I couldn’t be more excited about it… I LOVE HER! When I asked him last night how it was to have her again, William said, “Awesome, Mom!”

As for Alexander… the guy would be happy regardless! He bounced off to his class, introduced himself to a few girls in the line, and then stood there trying to wrestle Matt till it was time to head to class. And Alex’s teacher will be perfect for him. I couldn’t have asked for better pairings this year… thank goodness. Plus… Alex has even informed us that he has a new best friend in class, which is awesome because this is the first time ever he’s not in class with one of his brother’s, so I’ve been anxious to see how it goes for him.

First day of school. Check.
Tears flowing. Check.
Ready for Day 2. I hope so!

Awww… it’s so hard to see them go off on their own. Sounds like they are both in a great situation tho. YAY!

Wow! You better watch it mom…. Mr. William is going to totally pass you up in the next year! He’s so tall! =)

And Alexander looks EXACTLY like your husband. (At least by the pics you post… lol)

And as always, you look smashing.
