What a difference 6 years makes…

We took the boys to Ocean City, NJ this past Friday night and headed directly to the amusement park there.  My sons have come to know and love the rides at this place, so it’s always fun to see them get amped up as we head there.  My husband went to Ocean City, NJ for a week in the summer growing up, so it’s extra special for him giving his sons the same excitement and summer fun that he had as a kid.

As we were walking around the amusement park the other night, a memory came flashing back for me.  I had been in that exact spot before with William, 6 years ago, while I was pregnant with Alexander!  I remembered it like it was yesterday, so I had Matt snap a photo of me and William.  Low and behold, as soon as we arrived home last night, I had my husband dig out the photo from 6 years ago… almost standing in the EXACT same spot.  My hair may now be blonde… and I’m not pregnant (and I look so damn young!)… but it’s the same ride and the same big smile on my face.

Then…

And now…

I also grew up going to Ocean city New Jersey, I’m 37 years old and that ride your standing in front of I always would go on as a kid.I absolutely LOVE OCNJ I wish I had the money to buy a shore house I always say if I won the lottery that would be my first purchase!I have three kids now and we’ve been once when my oldest was a baby and once when my oldest was 4 and my twins were almost three, they ask every year to go.I would love to but it’s expensive just to rent a house and of course you want to be on the beach. What’s your favorite snack to get when your there? Mack n manco pizza, fudge from the fudge kitchen, salt water taffy, the caramel popcorn. Thanks for the trip down memory lane, great family vacations down the shore.

P.S. I live about 35 minutes from Cape Cod,do you know of any family friendly destinations similiar to OCNJ without the 6 hour drive?
