The most FABULOUS day of the year… the Carnival Parade in Provincetown!

There are family days.  Fitness days.  Sometimes extreme fitness days.

There are food days and feast days.

There are lots of fun days that include all of the above.

But a fabulous day?  That would be Carnival Parade Day in Provincetown, Massachusetts… the unique cosmopolitan community located at the very tip of Cape Cod that celebrates diversity, culture and the arts while preserving the history of its heavenly location.

This year celebrates Barry’s and my 4th return to the Carnival Parade.  This year Barry’s cousin Donna and her husband Ron came along for the fabulousness of it all.

Each year, the 6-day Carnival and Parade Festival has a theme.  This year’s theme was Can’t Stop the Music and there were plenty of Divas in attendance.

Of course, darling, I just had to wear my rhinestone trimmed black top, long rhinestone earrings, hair all poofed up with a rhinestone comb, and a black boa…

Barry and Ron just had to jump into a photograph or two…

We just had to carry on the tradition of stopping in at the Old Colony Tap while waiting for the Parade to begin AND reconnect with friends from years’ past Parades…

And then the Parade!  Words just cannot explain the, well… fabulousness

Yes, the MUSIC WAS IN EVERYBODY THAT DAY… a day that brings people from everywhere to celebrate with everybody the FABULOUSNESS of LIFE itself!

(And yes, that is the real Charo, who served as the Carnival Parade’s Grand Marshal this year!)

Can’t wait for next year’s 2012 A Space Odyssey. We’ll be there with, well… space-sized fabulousness!

Every year I have marveled at the “fun-ness” of it all. You looked fantastic! No surprise there. Maybe one of these years I will surprise you and show up. Wouldn’t that be something?!?!

In the past I have enjoyed reading this blog. I have henceforth unsubscribed due to this post. This is truly the opposite of fabulous. It is offensive. You will likely write me off as an intolerant bigot or something similar but my Catholic faith cannot allow me to support such depravity.

Mary… In no way would I ever write you, or anyone, off as “an intolerant bigot.” I understand to the depth of my soul the personal faith, meaning, beliefs, choices of everyone… and I truly respect your choice. I am sorry to lose you as a reader.

Sharon, all I see in this post and in these photos is a great time. You can’t please everyone. I, for one, enjoyed this post and will continue to subscribe to all your blogs. 🙂

    Sharon,

I genuinely appreciate your response and I’m sorry for assuming that you would write me off. Thank you for your kindness.

I also want to tell you that I really do enjoy reading about your family and the obvious joyful love you all share for one another. It is beautiful and inspiring. It is clear that you love your husband, your children and your grandchildren with every fiber of your being.

May God bless you as you continue loving.

    ~Mary
