Oh, those summer nights

This coming winter, when I’m complaining about the snow, ice, cold temperatures, limited daylight hours, chilly houses, extra outerwear requirements, bare trees…

(and the list goes on…)

and I ask, “Tell me again why I willingly live in the Northeast?”

(because that question is inevitable…)

Remind me of Northeast summers…

And specifically, Northeast summer sunsets…

Because to me, summer is…

Simply spectacular sunsets…

Enjoying a light breeze on the front porch…

The smell of freshly cut grass, ocean air and cookouts…

Fabulous childhood memories of summers spent at the pool club…

The anniversary of the day I met Brian (more on that in a few days)…

And, yes… the reason I tolerate winters in the Northeast.

Very true Jane. It’s those harsh winter days that make us appreciate the wonderful warm summer nights. Yet, I do long for more summer and less winter. Maybe my days of living in New England are numbered…. we’ll see.

Thanks for the great post…. it warmed my heart.

The one thing I absolutely miss about living near the water is the sunsets. Living in or around mountains, you lose that last 30 minutes or so of a sunset and I MISS IT! Your photos are beautiful 🙂

So glad that I got to see a number of beautiful sunsets while I was in town … I do think the most spectacular was the one over Bristol Harbor the night before we left … eating outside, watching the people and the boats and the sunset was just perfect! Thanks for the reminder! 🙂
