Yesterday I met with the church secretary where Brian and I are getting married. I had to drop off a few documents and go over some wedding details.
The church where Brian and I go on Sundays, St. Mary of the Bay, isn’t the exact place where we’ll be getting married. We’ll be getting married at St. Jean Baptiste, a parish that merged with St. Mary of the Bay last year.
We had the option to choose either church, and we chose St. Jean Baptiste because it is a very intimate, traditional parish and we both feel that it will be a beautiful church in which to get married.
Now, the church doesn’t have air conditioning, and since we’re getting married in the middle of July, the secretary warned me that it can get very hot.
I understand this, but Brian and I went to a wedding in July in that very church last year, and it was perfectly fine. My sister also got married on a very hot summer day in a non-air conditioned church, and though it was warm, the heat didn’t take away from the happiness of the occasion.
In any case, the secretary presented me with a fantastic idea, which she had gotten from another bride who recently got married at St. Jean Baptiste: fans as wedding programs.
I am definitely borrowing this fabulous idea for our wedding!

That’s perfect!
Those are cute! I’ve also seen the paddle fan ones as well!!
Our church doesn’t have AC either, but hopefully in November we won’t need! 4 months to go!!
Will u make it a morning wedding?
Great idea, I’ll have to pass this onto our Brian and his fiance. They’re planning an August wedding for next year.
