When I was in Nantucket last month for the fabulous Cercone Brown Summer House event, I had the chance to wear these babies all weekend…

Oh, yes… New Balance 1400’s!

You know, it’s funny.  I had sent my mother and sister a photo of me on the first night, and the text back from my photo was, “Where did you get those shoes?”

I’ve never been one to really care much about the sneaker I have on my feet for athletic performance.  I was a swimmer growing up, so really… the only thing that I used to care about when it came to sneakers were how they looked! 🙂

As I’ve gotten older, and I’ve hung the swimsuit, cap and goggles up, I’ve become more and more interested in running and power walking to stay in shape.  With these 4 little men, I need to be in shape and on my toes at all times.  So I was beyond intrigued with the New Balance 1400.  I’m finally at a point in my adult-mom life where I’m interested in doing some 5Ks and some road races, so… I absolutely (positively) need some attire and gear that is going to help me out.

So, back to the 1400’s… these are for races, plain and simple.  They will get you to where you want to go and push you further.  I’ve been wearing them consistently since leaving Nantucket, and my feet have never felt more comfortable, nor felt more support all over.

The New Balance 1400 race day road flat features a REVlite midsole and welded upper for an ultralight running experience. These will not weigh your feet down at all. The sole offers full ground contact and a secure grip on slick surfaces, providing the stability and confidence you need for maximum speed (for me, that’s not too fast).

So mamas out there, if you’re looking to get into some running, you gotta check these babies out. I absolutely LOVE mine and highly (highly) recommend them!
