Puristics and Henry meet the Summer

I have been waiting all month to write this post!  For the last 5 months I’ve been chronicling my usage with Puristics on my little guys, focusing in on my Henry.  He has the most sensitive and delicate skin (as does my Benjamin), so as his mother, I’ve always (always, always) been very aware and concerned about any creams and/or ointments that go on his skin.  It’s not easy watching your son have to try many different creams to get some sort of relief.  Ever since he was a baby he’s been prone to getting diaper rash and just have flare ups here and there. It hasn’t been easy on him (or me!).

When I first heard about Puristics, I was intrigued.  This was way back in January!  I loved that the Baby Care line is pediatrician tested, hypoallergenic, naturally preserved and that 98% ingredients are natural and have no parabens, phthalates or sulfates.

This kind of stuff was truly GOLD for me to see on Puristics’ package.  It made me feel good to know that Henry has a safe, pure and GOOD product for his skin.  I jumped at the opportunity to try it out! It took to Henry’s skin extremely well… and as you remember, I got to test the Baby Care products through his stomach flu (many diaper changes!), potty training and (now) the warm and hot weather.

I have been looking forward to the summertime throughout the last 9 months!  It’s my most favorite time of year, hands down. But there’s been one thing about the summer that I’ve been dreading – diaper rash. Henry’s out of his daytime diapers, but still needs to be in a swim diaper at the pool. He’s just not “old” enough yet or in control enough yet to go without it. The only problem about him having to wear his swim diaper is that he always seems to get diaper rash in the summer. He’s in this wet diaper in the pool and then he’s running down to the playground and off to the snack bar in it. Never mind when we’re at the beach – the sand in his diaper is just not a good combination for him.

So… yes, I have been waiting to see how the Puristics Diapering Cream and the Zinc Oxide Diaper Rash Cream would stand up to the test of the summertime with Henry. I’m happy to report… with 2 solid weeks into the pool and beach time, all is well in the world. 🙂

I have been lathering it on Henry as soon as his swim diaper goes on and then as soon as it comes off. I like to think I’m warding off everything, and I’ll tell you what, it’s been working! The last thing on earth I want my poor little Henry to have to worry about or feel is a sore bummie. That would break my heart.

So Puristics and Henry have had a good partnership in greeting the Summer of 2011! It’s super gentle on him. It’s protecting him. And most of all, I’m seeing results! Can’t ask for much more than that.

So summer… keep on coming! Henry (and me) are ready for you. We’re armed this year. 🙂
