Pampers had their first Baby Board gathering the last 2 days in Cincinnati, OH at their headquarters. I was beyond honored and excited to be asked to be on the Pampers Board because I have been a Pampers user with my boys for the last 7 years… and sadly, I’m almost done with diapers in the McClelland household (which means it could be time for another!).

Diapers have been a part of my life every single day (literally) for the last 7 years. When we brought Henry home from the hospital in June of 2008, I had 4 boys in diapers. William a size 6, Alex a size 5, Ben a size 3 and Henry a size 1. We had diaper assembly lines with the boys… I will always, always, always smile when I think back to those days (although I was in a bit of a daze back then!).

I even remember the very first time a nurse handed me a diaper to change William, my 7 pound 6 ounce little man. He was a day old and I just stared at the nurse and thought to myself, “You really want me to do this?” It was a Pampers Swaddler diaper and it was so tiny! I was so scared to change his diaper, he was this perfect little guy and I didn’t want to disturb him while changing his diaper because I didn’t have a clue as to how to do it! I was such a rookie.

Well, it’s safe to say… I took to it like a fish to water. I could literally change a diaper blind-folded at this point in my life.

And so, it truly was a full circle moment for me to join the Pampers Baby Board.

Pampers always has new products in the works, and it was really cool to hear about their latest Pampers update called the 3-Way Fit. This will be the new face of the Pampers Cruisers… something I know very well in my house!

There are 3 new things about this diaper:
1. Extending the softness from the Swaddlers into these… so that means diapers that are sizes 3 through 6 will have that same Swaddler softness!
2. There’s a longer layer from front to back in the diaper, so that means more absorbancy – which is KEY for moms (and kids!).
3. And there’s a HUGE shift in graphics, which is exciting! This will give the Cruisers a fresh new look because they’ve partnered with Sesame Street to create 12 new designs. And my sons will love this.. Oscar the Grouch is going to be introduced into the diapers, too!

35 million families around the world use Pampers, and I just feel truly honored to be a voice for moms within this incredible brand. Meeting the last 2 days was incredible, I cannot say enough about the warmth, the kindness, the passion and the dedication of the Pampers team. A HUGE treat for me over the last 2 days was meeting one of Pampers’ spokespeople Rosie Pope… star of the awesome Bravo Reality Show, Pregnant in Heels. I’m a lover of the show and was very excited and anxious to meet the star and fashion designer, Rosie Pope.

Well, let me tell you… she was beyond amazing to meet. She shared her story with us. She shared her passion with is. She shared her parenting advice with us. She opened herself up and just took us all in and answered every single question we had for her! But there was something she said that truly changed me because it’s something that I’ve never really voiced, but have always thought in the back of my mind.

Rosie was asked about the balance of motherhood and working. I love hearing successful moms answer this question because it’s the million-dollar question, but also because I love to hear what answer they share. Rosie’s a very busy working mom, and being one myself, I was anxious to hear what she had to say…

She said this, “I just want it to be worth it.”

It was like a light bulb. That’s it. I get that answer. I want my sons to see me working and I want to look back someday and say to myself those very words… “It was worth it.” Simple words, but powerful words.
