Mattel Green Lantern Party

I recently had the opportunity to host a Green Lantern party for my sons and 8 of their friends. Needless to say the boys were over the moon. They got to come to a party and walked away with awesome Green Lantern Deluxe Battle Shifters Figures and a super cool Green Lantern flashing Power Ring.

The Setup!

I was happy because they spent two hours running through the yard, using their imaginations and assuming the role of the Green Lantern and various villains. They had a blast and so did I. Needless to say they slept well that night.

Their favorite part had to be the Mattel Green Lantern Colossal Cannon. It has awesome sound effects, flashing lights and a spinning turret, not to mention it shoots discs. All the boys went crazy over it!

They loved the Mattel Green Lantern Deluxe Battle Shifters as well. Each figure has a small weapon that transforms into a big battle accessory with the touch of a finger. They quickly learned each character’s name and soon incorporated it into their play.

I do have to say, there was one uninvited guest who showed up to the party. About a half an hour in, one of the boys came running out of the house yelling, “Mr. McClelland, there’s a chipmunk in your house. I’m not kidding, we saw it in the kitchen!” Always fun when there’s a rodent in the house.

Fortunately, with a little help from my mini Green Lanterns, I trapped the chipmunk and set him free in the yard. I actually felt bad for the little guy as he frantically ran from room to room as 10 kids, Power Rings in hand tracked it through the house. He didn’t stand a chance against the Colossal Battle Cannons!

It was a great day, and somehow I got signed up to take the whole group to see the Green Lantern when it opens. Honestly, I can’t wait!
