It’s HOME MONTH at Mom Generations, that’s right… it’s all about trying to “fashionize” and make our home exactly the kind of home we have been dreaming it could be!

We moved into our home on December 30, 2005 and it was the BEST day of my life! We were finally home owners. As soon as we moved in, we literally went from room to room to room and started dissected everything we wanted to change and alter. Our list started to grow quite a bit! We really wanted to make this house, our home… we wanted our personal imprint on it. Not only that… when we moved in we had 2 sons, so our main focus was on making it a place that was perfect for them. And so… we had our goals.

But as often happens in life, with having such a young family and then having 2 more boys, our busy life took over and the plans we had for our house took a backseat. All of a sudden the things we wanted to change (paint color, put down carpet, change the cabinets, re-do the bathrooms) became liveable for us. With the money we knew it would take and the time we knew it would take, we just knew we couldn’t swing it back then. And to be honest, it was a little difficult for me because I never truly felt like it was our house. Every time I walked into our playroom (a.k.a. basement) I would say, “I just wish we ripped up this carpet when we moved in!”

And so… it’s time. It’s time in a VERY BIG WAY! The boys are older and the house needs to be ours, we LOVE this house and now we want to make it  reflect us.

I am ultra-excited to announce that I have partnered with Home Depot to bring you some webisodes about how we are transforming our house. Our biggest goals were to carpet and to paint, something I don’t know ANYTHING about, so Home Depot became my guide into transforming my house and showing me how it can be done easily, practically and without any problems. I’m very excited to bring you through our journey… !!
