I’m a day late on this post because I was away for the weekend with my family… and (gasp) I had no Internet. But the good news, I made it through…
My father.
You know when you hit the jackpot in Vegas and the bells start ringing and the music starts blaring because someone hit the LUCKY POT? That’s how I feel about having my father as my Dad. I know I hit the jackpot, BIG TIME.
Fatherhood for my Dad was easy. I can sum up how he has been throughout my life and my siblings’ lives like this – he lives for his family. He does. Plain and simple. And in turn, he has raised 4 children who are the exact same way. We are our father’s children.
He never missed a school function.
He never missed a swim meet.
He never missed a softball game.
He never missed a thing.
Not a thing.
He just never missed the chance to be with us.
And I love him for it immensely. He has molded me into the mother I am today. I say “I love you” a million times a day. I hug and kiss my sons with every single chance I get. I always have them on top of mind. And everything I do is for them – all the working, all the blogging, all the everything – is for William, Alex, Ben and Henry.
My dad taught me that. And he couldn’t have given or shared with me a better gift on earth than to show me HOW to be the best parent possible.
I love you Dad so much… and I feel blessed to have you as my father. I truly truly truly did hit the JACKPOT!
