Isn’t it amazing that in our world of cutting edge technology and gadgets and games, 3 Boys can be stopped in their tracks when they spot a Baby Bunny in a back yard…
“Shhhhhh,” they whispered to each other and to me. “We don’t want to scare the Baby Bunny away.”
They watched in awe as the Baby Bunny nibbled on clover and shifted its ears in their direction.
More whispers. “It likes us, Grandma.”
Oh, yes. It does.
The Baby Bunny seemed to know the magic he inspired and he lingered a good long time… nibbling and wiggling his ears. (I say he because that Baby Bunny seemed one with the 3 Boys.)
Then the sound of a lumbering truck broke the spell just enough to send the Baby Bunny scurrying to the back fence, around the little Blueberry Bushes and along the old stone wall.
The 3 Boys watched him hop away… and all asked as if in one breath, “Can we feed him carrots, Grandma?”
Of course.
And off we tiptoed down the stairs, through the green grass, over to the fence near the little Blueberry Bushes and we tossed those carrots like they were golden nuggets of treasure for the Baby Bunny Prince…
And we all smiled.
Isn’t it amazing that in our world of cutting edge technology and gadgets and games, 3 Boys can be stopped in their tracks when they spot a Baby Bunny in a back yard…
Thank God.
