Mom Fashion: How to Dress Up Shorts

When I was a little girl, I remember knowing that the summertime was almost upon me by my mother saying, “Audrey, it’s shorts weather.”  To me, there were no better words because I have always (always) loved the warm summer sun.

So I wanted to share the same words with you today, “It’s shorts weather!”

There’s nothing I love more than tossing on a pair of shorts and a tee and heading to the park or to the beach or even to the grocery store.  But that’s not the only place you can sport your shorts! Dress them up for work or for a “fancier” summer occasion.

I grabbed a few different kinds of shorts to show you how you can easily dress them up.  It really all comes down to finding the perfect top, the perfect shoe and some dazzling accessories!

Khaki shorts with Cotton Blazer
Longer khaki shorts with silk top
Silk shorts with cream top
Jeans shorts with button-down blouse
White shorts with tunic
Cargo shorts with wrap jersey shirt
Cotton blue shorts with cable knit top

Grab those shorts and dress them on up!

I’m new to this site. I was wondering if you post where you can purchase items. I love the shorts blog you have posted and I wanted to know where I can purchase some of the items.

Hi Audrey. Thanks for sharing some ideas regarding summer outfits and styles. All are great! But then, what I really like most is the jeans short with the button-down blouse. Well, I need to look for items online and hopefully can get discounts so I can create two or more outfits just like what you posted. Thanks a lot.
