Martha Stewart PETS Spring Collection at PetSmart – Review & Giveaway!

As I’ve mentioned, Brian and I are just starting the process of looking for a house, and for the past year we’ve been living between our parents’ houses. It hasn’t been ideal, but we’re grateful that our parents have allowed us to do this in order to save money, especially at the expense of their personal space!

We are also grateful that our parents’ houses are both pet-friendly, as our family includes our four-legged children.

Along with the dogs themselves, we transport a lot of the dogs’ equipment – pillows, toys, balls, Chuck-Its, etc. – back and forth between the houses, too. And since we’re always on the go, I’m constantly on the lookout for things that make life easier.

I was sent the Martha Stewart 3-piece Bowl Set from PetSmart for review, and not only does it fit the bill on the “making life eaiser” front – it’s incredibly stylish to boot (well, it is by Martha)! I love the colors and the design.

The three pieces are: a non-skid melamine bowl, a stainless steel bowl that fits inside the larger bowl, and an airtight lid.

Brian and I take this set to the park so the dogs can get a drink from the stainless steel bowl in between playing. It is portable and compact, and with its airtight lid, it’s ideal for travel.

What I love about the non-skid bowl is that it is sturdy but lightweight. It looks like a ceramic bowl, but it’s made of melamine, so it’s versatile and I don’t worry about it breaking. We plan to spend a lot of time outdoors this spring and summer, so it will come in handy for doggy meals on-the-go.

We were also sent the Martha Stewart Butterfly Hoodie to review. The Large was a little too small to fit Tansy (she’s about 55 lbs.), but it is absolutely ADORABLE, so I’m giving it to a friend who has a smaller dog because I can’t bear to have something so cute go to waste!

It is made of soft cotton knit and stitched with sweet silver butterflies. Couldn’t you just melt!?

My puppy (a 7-year-old doxie) loves to jog with me! Her longest trek was 16 miles… not too shabby for a little 10-pounder.

My pup is a 15 mos old Newfoundland, she weighs about 110 lbs. On walks, she likes to carry things. Sticks, stuffed toys, and the like. One day, she picked up a small purse of my daughter’s and carried that all around the block. It was quite the sight to see this giant black dog with the wide pink crystal-encrusted collar, bright pink leash (actually a boat rope!) and the My Little Pony neon- pink satchel being cradled gently in her mouth. We had a lot of attention that day!

We adopted a 3 year old yellow Lab in January and the cutest thing about him is how much he loves our two kids. He is so patient when they feed him, always sitting and waiting nicely for them to put down his bowl of food, and barking at them to come back when they stray too far away at the park!

I loved buying sweaters for my boxer when we first got her. I remember the first time I bought one, I got the size wrong. She couldn’t straighten her legs completely to stand and she just toppled over like a statue and laid there … so sad… but funny. You had to see the look in her eyes …

But ever since I knew she needed an XLARGE – she is quite chesty, although she is skinny elsewhere. She is the Barbie of the Boxer world.

Although, if I win I want to give the hoodie to my Shar-Pei. I haven’t bought her a sweater yet and she would look so cute in one. (I’m awful, right?!)
