APRIL SHOWERS bring WORD POWERS: Days of Literacy for Kids!

Today’s word:  Muse

The word Muse refers to one of the 9 goddesses known as the inspiration of learning and the arts… especially of poetry and music.

April Showers bring work powers

Do you know the names of the Muses?  Here they are:  Clio, Thalia, Melpomene, Euterpe, Terpsichore, Polyhymnia, Calliope, Urania, Erato

Each Muse is assigned a particular mythological-inspiring function.  Clio is the Muse of History, Thalia the Muse of Comedy, Melpomene the Muse of Tragedy, Euterpe the Muse of Music, Terpsichore the Muse of Dancing, Polyhymnia the Muse of Sacred Poetry, Calliope the Muse of Epic Poetry, Urania the Muse of Astronomy and Erato the Muse of Lyric Poetry.
