Back-up Sunglasses…

I’ve learned my lesson before about 5 times, so when I saw this happen yesterday, I wanted to intervene, but I could tell the woman was too upset at the moment.

So let me stand on my soapbox right now…

Do. Not. Bring. Sunglasses. That. Cost. Over. $20. Out. Where. There’s. Kids.

My 4 sons have taught me many lessons in life.  Many, many, many.   I’ve had sunglasses crushed, sat on, thrown (by mistake by a then 2 year old Alex) and run-over by trucks in our house.

I just do not leave any sunglasses that are/were expensive out anymore.

Yesterday a woman was sitting by the pool, when her son surprised her by jumping into the pool, only to jump onto her sunglasses laying on the deck.  Yeah, she wasn’t amused.  She held herself together, but she did say, “OMG, these were my good sunglasses!”

My advice… as we’re getting closer and closer to the summer… stock up on some very inexpensive sunglasses that you can almost just roll through throughout the weekend

So true! I have a good pair that I bring when I am sans kids but otherwise, my faves that don’t cause me stress come from vendors in NYC or the cheap knockoffs from mall kiosks! Good thing Getting Gorgeous is coming up because I’m due for a trip to NYC to stock up for the summer! 🙂
