Each week throughout 2011 I will share how I am giving back somehow, whether it’s by offering my resources, my time, my talents or my support.
Giving back doesn’t have to be on a grand scale. And doesn’t have to be about money.
Oftentimes charities, organizations, causes and foundations need support beyond donations. And that’s what I’m going to try to focus on.
I will be sharing what I’m doing each week; perhaps you, too, will be inspired to give back.
Together we can make a difference.

52 Weeks of Giving: Week 9
This week I gathered up clothing and shoes for a young family who lost their home and most of their possessions in a late February house fire.
They have 5 children with a 6th on the way, and obviously need a lot of support right now.
I heard about the family through a blogging buddy, Amy from MomAdvice.com.
The mother of the family is the sister of a designer/blogger… and her sister has set up this page where people can seek ways to help.
I have clothing and shoes that will fit the older girls of the family, and my sister is giving me a bunch of her boys’ clothing that will fit the family’s 4-year-old boy.
Here is a list of the family members and the sizes of clothing/shoes they need:
- Kristina
Ladies large maternity - Stephen
Mens large, jeans 33-32 - Alicia
Girls 14/16 or ladies small, has no shoes wears size 8 ladies - April
Girls 12/14, no shoes wears size 7 ladies - Autumn
Girls 10/12, has no shoes wears size 6 ladies - Andrew
Boys size 4 pants, size 5 shirts, size 10 shoes - Anna
