Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation presents Study NY and Native Son

Valentine’s Day was a good day for fashion… especially for Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation recipients – Tara St. James of Study NY and Kyle Fitzgibbons of Native Son.

The Style Squad started off our day at Study NY…

Gala Darling, Aly Walansky and me enjoying some Ecco Domani Pinot Grigio!

As we waited for the Study NY presentation to begin, we all chatted about Tara’s collection… everything in it was going to be made with sustainable fabrics. For me personally… I couldn’t wait to see what Tara was going to show. Was it possible to bridge fashion and sustainability?

Yes!

Yes! Yes!

Yes! Yes! Yes!

Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes!

So long story short… YES!

The presentation was done in such a cool way, too. The school theme was genius… each model walked the runway with a delicious red apple, all looking classic, sophisticated and fabulous. But it was the clothing that just blew me away… everything was sustainable – recycled textiles, organic cotton, etc. It was incredible to me to see everything… and beyond that, to know that everything was GOOD to wear.

And then we headed wrapped up our Valentine’s Day with Native Son…

Kyle Fitzgibbons hit a homerun. Oh, my… not a bad way to spend Valentine’s Day!

See what I mean...

The Style Squad had a chance to chat with Kyle during his presentation and he explained to us that he created 3 different looks… a past, a present and an ode to the future of menswear. It made so much sense… and what I loved hearing him say was that when he creates, not much of his design ever changes. He said that every season a woman’s trend/style changes immensely… but with men, it’s not that way – and he creates with that in mind. I loved this, “When I say I’m relaxing something, I take it out 1/4 of an inch.” As a mom of 4 sons… and someone who has been embracing male fashion for 6 years now… I thought this was so interesting to hear from Kyle.

And then the best accessory during the show for his collection… the Ecco Domani wine, of course!

Fabulous!

How great is this...

Valentine’s Day was a smokin’ hot day when it came to fashion… !
