52 Weeks of Giving: Week 5

Each week throughout 2011 I will share how I am giving back somehow, whether it’s by offering my resources, my time, my talents or my support.

Giving back doesn’t have to be on a grand scale. And doesn’t have to be about money.

Oftentimes charities, organizations, causes and foundations need support beyond donations. And that’s what I’m going to try to focus on.

I will be sharing what I’m doing each week; perhaps you, too, will be inspired to give back.

Together we can make a difference.

52 Weeks of Giving: Week 5

I follow U.S. Navy doctor Andy Baldwin on Twitter.

Yes, he was The Bachelor on that show’s 10th season back in 2007, though, admittedly, I didn’t watch it and that’s not why I follow him.

I started following him because he’s very much into health and fitness… he’s an Ironman triathlete and a marathoner… and he also cares very much about giving back.

He started the Got Your Back Network to provide services to families of fallen soldiers through special events and qualified organizations.

Andy celebrated his birthday over the weekend, and his wish was for people to support GYBN, if they could.

So, as someone who admire Andy’s many accomplishments both career-wise and athletic-wise, and as a way to honor the families of fallen soldiers, I made a donation to Got Your Back Network.
