When I called the gym this morning to sign up for tomorrow’s 9:30am Spin class, I knew enough to say, “That is, if class isn’t canceled.”
I’ve been listening to the weather forecasters for the past few days – I know a big snowstorm is coming.
And lo and behold, tonight around 5:00pm I got the call that tomorrow morning’s class is canceled.
Why you gotta be infringing on my training, Mother Nature?
The countdown is on, remember? There are only 96 days until the Boston Marathon. And triathlon season will begin soon after that. Every day and every workout counts!
I guess it just goes to show you that when it comes to training, flexibility is key (I’m talking about the adaptability version of the word, of course, but the ability to bend easily is pretty good, too).
I will just have to move around some of my workouts – and maybe even face the dreaded treadmill (ugh – would rather run in below-freezing temps!).
I really wish I had picked up those snowshoes I saw for sale a few months ago… I would have been able to put them to good use over the next few days – and what a great outdoor workout!
Oh, wow! This is so awesome! I’ve been contemplating getting myself a pair of snowshoes! We’ve got 750 acres of land that we own that need exploration 🙂 I’ve only walked about a quarter of our property!!! I’m thinking that snowshoeing with a toddler should be an interesting experience. No? LOL!
Any particular snowshoe brand/s you’d recommend?
Chrissy – Wow, that’s a heck of a lot of land!!! After I wrote this, I found out that Brian actually had some snowshoes at his house! I haven’t used them yet, but I will let you know how I like them and what brand they are!!
I used to go snowshoeing when I lived in Upper Michigan. It is really a work out but it seemed to go by so quick because of the beauty I experienced while doing it. Hope the ones Brian had work out for you Jane. I will look forward to seeing some photos 😉 Hugs!
