5 Fashion Trends for 2011

5 Fashion Trends for 2011…

Oh, yes. It’s time to reveal 5 Fashion Trends that are predicted (by Glamour Magazine) to be HOT this year. I can’t say I LOVE LOVE LOVE all of them, but I’ll tell you what, they are pretty easy trends to incorporate into your wardrobe (which is something moms like to hear).

Drum roll please… !

1. Oversize Sweater. I LOVE this trend because you can wear an oversize sweater with just about ANYTHING.. jeans, leggings, skirts, sweats, you name it. Not to mention, if you’re feeling “blah” one day, it’s the perfect cozy addition.

2. Fringe Bag. These are really hip and chic. You can also find fringe bags at some great price points. Plus, this is the kind of bag you could use for date night or a night out with the girls! I just think they’re awesome!

3. Pleated Skirt. Oh, I totally remember my mother wearing pleated skirts to school when she was a teacher. These really bring me back, but I have to say… they are really great for work. If you’re looking to add some new pieces into your work wardrobe, go for the pleats!

4. Volume Skirt. This is a trend I probably won’t wear, but I think it’s very cool. Pump it up with some skirts! My husband had bought me a volume skirt a couple of years ago, I think because I’m so short, it looked a little foolish on me. 😉 BUT.. that being said, I think that they look beautiful on the right body.

5. Wide-Leg Jeans. Many women will be excited about this trend! I love this because it helps minimize a woman’s silhouette. If you wear these jeans with a tighter top, this will slim you on top. Also, wear these jeans with high shoes, these will allow your legs to appear slimmer, too!

    Audrey,
I am new to your blog, and I appreciate your insights and candid comments…especially regarding fashion. I wanted you to know that the new skirt trends, the pleated skirt and the volumne skirt, re-emerged in my world, the eveningwear and special occasion world, last year. The idea of dressy separates, pairing a dressy top/blouse and a gorgeous, non-traditional skirt style seem to be a favorite for my clients (versus automatically goint with a cocktail dress) when they are invited to an evening affair. It may just be the Southern California lifestyle influence, but I think beautiful, non-traditional skirt styles are a great addition to a woman’s wardrobe!
