On October 5, my countdown began: 30 days until my 30th birthday. In honor of this, on each of the 30 days leading up to my birthday I will recount one memory from the past 30 years… either one that has helped define me, one that makes me laugh, one that makes me think, one that encourages me…  or maybe a little of everything. If possible, I will post a photo to go along with the memory.

Here is my memory for Day #24:

For Christmas two years ago I got a Snuggie. It was kind of a joke gift… but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t use it for real sometimes. I mean, New England winters are cold… and is a blanket, after all… with sleeves!

But who can forget the original Snuggie commercial? It was just so… silly.

… which is probably part of the reason I only wore my Snuggie in the privacy of my own home. Yes, the commercial advocated for outside Snuggie usage, but… really? No.

Anyway, after I had seen the commercial over and over and over again – and had the chance to put their Snuggie claims to the test – I had fun one day and created my own Snuggie commercial.

This was February 2009, at a time when a little laughter and levity was much needed. Mom did the camera work and then Audrey showed me how to work iMovie to put this little Snuggie spoof together.

I had so much fun doing this, even if it is a little embarrassing to watch!
